The TeamCyclist ProfilesGrant BaytonRider
C.V.Aged 33 and from Swindon. In 1999 he rode for professional Italian outfit Amore e Vita, reputedly the then Pope's favoutite Team! 2 top ten placings at the Tour of Poland. Last year, 1st Worcester St. Johns Road Race, 1st Ham Hill Road Race, 1st Overall Castle Combe Summer Road Race Series. Personal BiogI'm married to Suzanne, 10 years this year (makes mental note to self, don't get her handing up bottles in the gutter on our Anniversary...)! We have 2 children, Olivia 5 and Elliot 15 mths. I've worked for WH Smith for 15 years. My favourite music is The Editors, Kasabian, U2 and even a bit of Prince. The last 2 albums I bought were by The Hours and The Killers. My Cycling heroes are Bernard Hinault for being so hard, Sid Barras for winning nearly every race I watched as a kid and my dad Phil, for also being a Professional Cyclist for 15 years and holding down a full time job. My ambitions for 2008 are to get a podium place in a Premier Calendar and to help my Team-mates to do the same. I joined Sport Beans - Wilier because I respect Ben Luckwell with whom I've had a great partnership for the last 2 years and I want to be part of a new Team that has great ambition. And, I cannot train without my iPod and Sport Beans! I like to read but don't have much chance with 2 kids, work and riding the bike, so it's normally the odd mag. And my personal tip? I never use the little ring in training!
